Somewhere down there is my Dad coordinating the Redbull Flugtag Event at Concord Pacific Place on False Creek. 40,000 people attended the event to see pilots fly their hand-made crafts into the lake. 

Luckily for us we had the best seats at Auntie Eileen and Uncle Ben’s balcony on the 21st floor overlooking the event.

While Mom and Auntie Polen watch the event from the balcony, the rest of us took turns on the vibrating chair. As you can see everyone loooooves the vibrating chair. – Kiran 

This is my Aunt Polen. (Hi Auntie Polen!) Here she is demonstrating the Hong Kong style hand gesture (the peace sign) for photos. If you’re Cantonese you have to pose this way. It’s an unspoken rule. – Kiran

I’m smiling because Auntie Polen just told me how cute I am. Te he he. – Kiran

See? I wasn’t joking about the Hong Kong peace sign. Mom’s doing it too. – Kiran

While Mom’s getting ready this morning, I can watch cartoons in bed. – Kiran

While everyone’s eating dim sum, Aunt Frances and I admire the fish. – Kiran

Here we are at the Queen Elizabeth Park. Now I get to eat! Yum! – Kiran

Today we visited the Vancouver Public Library. – Kiran

Later that afternoon we went to Granville Island for coffee, scones and muffins. Mmmmmm …. coffee. Te he he. Just kidding. – Kiran  

Today we went to Surrey to see my Aunt Betty (Hi Auntie Betty!), Uncle Harry (Hi Uncle Harry!) and Aunt Aida (Hi Auntie Aida!). My Aunt Betty says that she’s my favorite aunt. (Note: Let me just start by saying that my Po-Po has three sisters, so I have three aunties that I love very very much, so for political reasons, I shall neither confirm nor deny that I have a ‘favorite’ auntie.) – Kiran    

After lunch we took a walk at the Spanish Bank. Just behind us is the mountainside called Vancouver’s ‘Sleeping Giant’. – Kiran

Here I am on my first plane ride. I alternately sat with Mom and Dad the for the entire 2 and a half hour trip. Mom says next time I can have my own seat…something about partial upper body paralysis I think she said. (‘Mom, you’re such an exaggerator.’) – Kiran

After we arrived, Mom and I went to my Aunt Frances (Hi Auntie Frances!) and Uncle Tom’s (Hi Uncle Tom!) house. And I got to watch Hong Kong soap operas. I like the one about the dueling pastry chefs. (And no, I’m not making that up.) – Kiran

And guess who else was there? My Po-Po! (Hi Po-Po!) – Kiran

Bon Voyage to me! Here I am with Dad while Mom packs my bags for our trip to Vancouver. I’m so excited my feet are sweating. I don’t know how frequently I will be able to blog during our trip but please come and visit the site during the week to see new posts from lovely Canada. – Kiran  

Rub-a-dub-dub everyone! Today is spa day at our house. Here I am on my new bath pillow. Mmmmm … luxury. (“Mom do we have time for a mani-pedi?”) – Kiran
