[tap, tap, tap] Hello-hellooooo? [tap, tap tap] Is this thing on? Okay, well, I am stepping out of the royal ‘we’ for a moment to remind you that it’s me, Shaan, helming the S.S. Kiran’s World and the iceberg ahead doesn’t look very threatening. Kiran is still recuperating, the color is beginning to return to his cheeks and he’s nearly back to his fighting weight. He is primed to blog the living daylights out of the internet when he resumes his duties here shortly. Until then, heads down, chins up and more rock. – Shaan
Like everyone else, I occasionally fall ill. Generally, it occurs around this time of year, and it’s usually a cold or flu that lingers for a week or two. I was so confident that I had conquered the winter blahs, I spent last night at my favorite karaoke bar eating steak frites. But today everyone in the house has succumbed to the killer cold and we’ve been self-medicating ourselves with everything from Triaminic and Emergen-C to some leftover Canadian bird flu vaccine (just in case). So in the spirit of bed rest, Kiran’s World will be taking a brief hiatus while we all recuperate and get our vim and verve back. Please check back with us in a few days when we will all be our old glowy, pink and healthy selves again. – Kiran

Because the world simply cannot have enough celebrity-inspired news: The Associated Press reported early this morning that chest-hair barer and small-dog-loving Brainy Smurf was arrested for un-smurfy behavior late yesterday evening. After being released on bail, he scarfed down some Smurf berries, climbed aboard his Whirlpool washer and then rode off in rinse-cycle. (“OMG! Really?! A Whirlpool?!”) – Kiran
In recent weeks my in-box has been flooded with hundreds of celebrity sightings, almost all of which were of the reclusive Gumby. (Wow – did not know there were so many Gumby fans out there.) But come on now guys – clearly some of these sightings have been fabricated. Below are a sample of emails I received all within a few minutes of each other:
Gumby’s with me at my winter estate helping to reset all of my clocks to daylight savings time!
I saw Gumby today at the Grand Wailea on Maui as I delivered a rental car to the resort.
He’s at the Pebble Beach Golf Course. He was wearing a nice velvet red jacket and feathered pimping hat.
I think he’s in my backyard.
